Project Embrace
Give Global Good.
The Problem.
A startup nonprofit, Project Embrace, needed some help. The company was started by Mohan Sudabattula in his college dorm with high hopes of increasing access to healthcare for all. After opening their doors in 2017, they managed to carry out their first operation with just a handful of medical devices collected from around the community - to be delivered to an orphanage for disabled children in Hyderabad, India. They had a great product, but they needed to spread their message. Sounds like an awareness problem.
The Solution.
So, they brought me on as the Director of Marketing + Brand Development to help get their name out there. My first task was to create an identity system that instantly told the viewer what Project Embrace was about. Sprinkle in a new messaging systems, a fresh website, an emphasis on the three words above, a few marketing funnels, and a little bit of restructuring. Beautiful.
So beautiful, in fact, the D&AD Impact Awards recognized the branding efforts and awarded us a Wood Pencil with top brands (Verizon, National Geographic, AB InBev, Kraft Heinz) and top agencies (Leo Burnett, FCB, McCann, Droga5) around the world. We were 1 of 4 in-house marketing teams in the awards. How’s that for being “kids?”
Check out their website when you get a chance. And donate if you can - they do a lot of good for the community.

We have been in major news outlets,
Printed magazines,
Newspapers,
Major social media outlets,
Oh yeah, we were even on TV.
I even took some photos for the company.
I think they turned out OK.
Time to get a little emotional.
My time at Project Embrace was the most humbling experience I could have asked for. I had the greatest experience donating medical equipment to communities, local and abroad, so impacted by poverty that dirt roads were a luxury; and donating medical equipment to those who have suffered from health complications their whole life, but still remained in high spirits towards life. There were a lot of gut-checks along the way, but this stuck out to me most: we all take our health for granted (until we inevitably get a stuffy nose and reminisce on the days of breathing without blockage).
I learned a lot about myself here. I grew professionally, emotionally, socially - but most of all, I grew as a human that cared for other humans. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for the geniuses on my team, and around the organization. Thank you to Mohan Sudabattula, Taylor Yoo, Kinkade Darling, Abigail Gates, Gabbie Hoyer, Connor Alain, Jenna Novy, and Abe Griffiths. Couldn’t have done it without you.
And here’s to the other humans that care for other humans. Cheers.
